A brokerage or brokerage firm is a financial institution in which public stocks and securities are bought and sold between buyers and sellers (usually investors) through stockbrokers. In full service brokerage firms, the employees are responsible for researching markets and making recommendations to portfolio managers and person fund managers, as well as having quotes for stock prices. Discount brokers and online brokers make a small commission by providing an automated trading system. Leading brokerage firms include Client's Partner, Charles Schwab, Fidelity Investments and USAA Brokerage. Different types of brokers include: commodity brokers, insurance brokers, mortgage brokers, real estate brokers, options brokers, business brokers and MFX brokers.
