At the turn of the century, the Grooming Lounge took its operations offline with the opening of its flagship Barbershop and Spa For Men in Washington D.C. Combining the best parts of a classic barbershop together with the amenities of a modern health spa, the Grooming Lounge offers services ranging from hot lather shaves and haircuts to business manicures and massages. Since the D.C. store's opening, many quality extensions to the Grooming Lounge brand have been introduced, including the debut of the Grooming Lounge Catalog, the launch of Grooming Lounge Shaving Solutions and Hair Care Line, and the opening of new Grooming Lounge stores in Tysons Corner, Virginia and Atlanta, Georgia. WHO IS BEHIND THE GROOMING LOUNGE? The Grooming Lounge was launched in 1999 by Michael Gilman & Pirooz Sarshar, two individuals with a lifetime of experience in the men's grooming industry (Gilman grew up in the cosmetic product distribution business and Sarshar has been a barber since the age of 16). After serving as the "un-official grooming gurus/suppliers" to their regular-guy buddies for years, the duo decided to make it official by creating a grooming brand incorporating stores, a web site, a catalog and custom-blended grooming products. Above all, Michael and Pirooz want to set a new standard in the industry by making men feel "like kings" via the best in customer and technical service.
