Mt. Olivet Baptist Church has been worshipping and operating in Columbus, Ohio since 1907. The present church site at 428 East Main Street, was purchased in 1929, the year of the Great Depression, and the church has enjoyed many expansions since then. This church edifice had been known as the Friends' Church, and in 1958, under the leadership of Mt. Olivet's eighth pastor, Dr.H. Beecher Hicks Sr., the original church structure was torn down and our present sanctuary and fellowship center were erected to the glory of God.
Mt. Olivet is an active, community-oriented church with a large number of active ministries and outreach groups. The church has a rich history in giving back and contributing to the neighborhood and maintains a top role in the Baptist Church Community nationally.
