From those humble beginnings, JAG is America’s oldest not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to producing, performing and promoting jazz. JAG is the second-largest performing arts organization in Columbus and consists of four focus areas: Columbus Jazz Orchestra (CJO) One of the world’s finest professional jazz orchestras, which performs fall through spring at the Southern Theatre, JazZoo in July and August at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, and at various regional and national events and venues. Affiliate Musicians Provides employment and performance opportunities to central Ohio’s finest professional musicians by linking them to consumers. Jazz Academy Located in the newly restored and historic Lincoln Theatre, it’s the home to JAG’s music instruction, educational programming, and in school programs. The Jazz Academy offers classes, camps and workshops for all ages — youth to senior citizens. It’s a place for anyone to listen, learn and play. The Jazz Academy is also home to the PBJ & Jazz family music series. Inside Track JAG’s newest music performance series at the Lincoln Theatre. Designed to attract a diverse audience, Inside Track features a cross-section of contemporary music by smaller ensembles and runs fall to spring.
