David Lord is a recognized leader in the areas of quality systems implementation and improving business performance. He has assisted four companies in achieving the Ford Q1 Award and ten companies in achieving ISO 9000/QS-9000 registration. He has also worked with clients to develop successful strategies in the areas of workflow management, visual workplace management, culture management, time and project management, continual improvement management, and the development of Business Operating Systems (BOS). David assists clients in planning, implementing and managing their company's vision toward a "customer driven" business. His particular area of expertise is using and teaching others how to use Visual Management Systems (VMS) to enhance communication and accelerate project completion. He has an intrinsic sensitivity to the individual and an ability to read a person's comfort level while promoting consensus in decision-making. After teaching in the public schools, David worked for Ford Motor Company where he was a detailer of engine components and training specialist for Ford Transmission. David held the position of Human Resources Manager at Engineering Services Incorporated (ESI) and was Manager of Course Development for American Supplier Institute (ASI). During his seven years at ASI, David learned systems thinking and continuous improvement. Developing Whirlpool's corporate course Improving Business Processes and facilitating Edgcomb Metals ISO 9002 registration, led David to begin consulting in the area of business performance improvement.
