Established in 1994, Shepherd's Foundation is an operating foundation that exists solely for the purpose of supporting the residents of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Services, Inc. Through mail appeals, grant proposals, and personal visits, the Foundation seeks to increase participation in the Shepherd's Circle (annual giving) and Legacy Society (planned giving) programs. Contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible in accordance with all applicable laws. Each year Shepherd's Foundation chooses one major fundraising project within the organization. In conjunction with Shepherd of the Valley's 35th anniversary, Shepherd's Foundation is seeking support this year for a number of projects that will enhance our efforts to provide quality care and a home-like environment for our residents. In addition, Shepherd's Foundation supports several ongoing programs, such as Benevolent Care Grants for residents who are running low on funds, Activity Department Grants for special resident programs, Staff Development Grants for employees who are continuing their education, and the Staff Appreciation Fund, which recognizes the exceptional efforts of our employees.
