Fred Netterville Lumber Co.
Info
Fred Netterville Lumber Co operates a Yates American B-26 Surfacer. It's purpose is to surface lumber to cusotmer specification. The B-26 surfaces 2 sides, at a rate of approximately 50,000 to 80,000 board feet per shift. Our Grading Chains purpose is to grade the lumber to be shipped. Each grading chain produces approximately 30,000 board feet in an eight hour shift. All the lumber shipped by Fred Netterville Lumber Company is NHLA Grade Certified. After lumber is graded it goes to the shed for painting and stenciling. An End Tally Machine is used to tally the lumber before shipping. The End Tally Machine provides a computerized printout for each bunk of lumber tallied. The purpose of our Kiln is to bring the moisture content of lumber down to 7 or 8%. The average kiln temperature is 160 to 180 degrees. Each kiln has a turnover time of about 7 to 10 days. The kilns are powered by steam produced by our boilers. We have 8 kilns with a total capacity of 550,000 board feet, mainly containing Red Oak, White Oak, Poplar, and Ash. At the present time we have approximately 1,500,000 feet of logs on our yard. We usually have nearly 4 million feet under water spray. We buy logs both standing and delivered to the sawmill. We have two foresters on staff and keep 8 to 10 million feet purchased at all times.
