Edmonds Winery has been evolving since the turn of the Millennium when we made our first wine. A Cabernet Sauvignon, with 500 pounds of grapes from Sagemore Vineyards. Since then we have also made Chardonnay, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and several other Bordeaux style blending wines. Our goal is to make our wines in a lighter fashion, for the most part just letting the wine make itself, with minimal intervention. We are striving to keep the alcohol content in the mid 13% range, yet well balanced and with good structure. We want our wines to represent the character and flavors of the grapes they are made from as well as the terroir of the vineyards. In 2002 we received our TTB bond and became a full-fledged licensed and bonded winery. Our first wine to go to market was 2003 Sauvignon Blanc, grapes from Pleasant vineyards, with total production of 14 cases. Our second release is a 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon, a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, from Gilbert vineyard in Mattawa and Hyatt vineyards in Zillah, total production 114 cases. 2004 wines to be released in late 2006 will include a Bordeaux style blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. In 2005 we made Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Cabernet Franc all sourced from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. These wines are now resting comfortably in barrels and tanks, ageing and mellowing, waiting for their introduction to the public.
