The mission of the Woburn Public Library is to provide all residents of our community with a wide variety of popular and reference materials, resources and services that assist in their day-to-day lives and extend their personal and intellectual development. The library serves everyone: men, women, children, students, business people, retirees, and many other groups. However, the building which houses those services is now strained beyond capacity. The Library,s 3rd Annual Gala & Auction will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Café Escadrille in Burlington. This event will kick off the Library,s fundraising to provide for an addition to and renovation of our library. Won,t you please join us as we celebrate 150 years of library service to our community and lay the foundation for the next chapter in our library,s history? Our public library,s early existence is a tribute to the community of 1856 which demanded it and supported it. The Woburn community of 2006 has the opportunity to honor that past by celebrating the present and by giving for the future. Our event will include silent and live auctions as well as an elegant dinner and cash bar.
