These include injectable drugs, certain existing oral drugs and large molecule drug candidates. The Company’s drug delivery technologies increase bioavailability by improving absorption in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, thereby enhancing efficacy, reducing side effects and improving drug tolerability. The Company has four internal product development programs based on Gastrointestinal Permeation Enhancement Technology (GIPET). MER 101 is an oral bisphosphonate for oncology indications that are in Phase II trials. MER 102 an oral anticoagulant, is in pre-clinical testing. MER 103 is an oral bisphosphonate for the treatment of osteoporosis. MER 104 is a second oncology product for the treatment of prostate cancer.
