PG Energy is committed to improving the way we serve our customers. As part of that commitment, PG Energy continues to install ERTs on its meters. An ERT (encoder, receiver and transmitter) is a radio-based module that records your natural gas consumption and delivers the information to handheld or mobile units used by PG Energy meter readers who simply walk or drive by your home. Approximately 73 percent of PG Energy's residential customers already have ERTs installed on their meters, and we continue to install more. A doorknob hanger is left at the residence after an ERT is installed. So while you may no longer see your meter reader regularly, rest assured that PG Energy is there for you, using the latest technology to reliably and efficiently obtain accurate monthly meter readings.
