The Wichita Art Museum is committed to providing the highest quality art education programs available. WAM's educational programming fulfils the Museum's mission through the presentation of information and public programs that stimulate curiosity, provide access to the creative process, and expand knowledge. Educational programming includes art appreciation tools such as guided tours, lectures, and films, but also extends to hands-on creative activities. We believe that art is for everyone and that learning is a lifelong process, thus to implement those ideals we strive to offer a wide range of programs that provide enjoyable and enriching experiences for visitors of all ages with all levels of familiarity with art. As an education partner with schools and community groups, WAM offers free docent-led tours to students and of all ages. The Museum's education staff also provides ongoing professional development for teachers through teacher training workshops and working partnerships with area schools. The Art Resource Center offers lesson packets, art reproductions, DVDs, books and educational games, all of which are available for educators to borrow for in-class use.
