Burkholder & Company has been providing quality services since our founding in 1976. It is our mission to provide quality tax and accounting services at a fair price. We believe the best way to achieve this goal is to identify the specific needs of our clients and address those needs directly, without providing services that are not needed or expected. David A. Burkholder, CPA, CVA - Is the President of Burkholder & Company. He has been engaged in public accounting since 1968; received his CPA certificate in January, 1972, and started his own CPA firm in January, 1976. Has been engaged in numerous audits of all types since that time; including governmental units and agencies, non-profit organizations, collective bargaining units, banks and small and medium-sized businesses. Has received at least 40 hours of continuing professional education credits each year since being granted his CPA certificate, and is currently receiving credits for a number of courses in which he is enrolled. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Society of Accountants. Recently, Mr. Burkholder has fulfilled all of the requirements to earn the respected Certified Valuation Analyst designation. Douglas L. Burkholder, CPA - Currently services as Vice-President and has been with the firm since 1996. He is a graduate of the George Washington University with a B.A. in Accountancy and a specialty in Management Information Systems. His experience includes controllership duties for several small companies, audit work for non-profit organizations, individual, corporate and estate taxation and accounting systems implementation and analysis. He is a member of the American Institute and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a Professional Advisor for QuickBooks accounting systems. He currently serves as an officer and director on several local non-profit organizations' board of directors. Danette D. Nolt, CPA - Is a graduate of Frostburg State University and has been practicing public accounting since 1995. Her experience includes accounting and financial statement preparation, corporate and individual tax preparation, and she is a Certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor. She is a member of the American institute and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Society of Accountants. She currently serves as an officer for a local non-profit organization. Kristen S. McCallum - Started with the firm in 1998 and currently serves as a Senior Staff Accountant. Is a graduate of Juniata college with a B.S. in Accounting. Experience includes individual, corporate and payroll tax preparation, monthly write-up accounting, and QuickBooks accounting. She is a member of the Maryland Society of Accountants. Susan L. Sanders - Began in 2000 as the Secretary/Receptionist. She has a Certificate in Business Data Processing and brings to the firm her excellent people, organization and computer skills. Burkholder & Company is pleased to announce that Dave Burkholder has successfully taken the Certified Valuation Analyst exam and has been granted the CVA credential. Dave is now one of the few in our region with this respected designation.
