A group of thoughtful community leaders created the Satilla Health Foundation in 1990 as a philanthropic resource for scholarship funds because they believed that an educated healthcare workforce was important to maintain a healthy community. The vision for the Foundation has grown over the years through the generous spirit of our donors. Our mission is to improve the health and well being of the residents of our region. We accomplish our mission in a variety of ways. We support programs and projects that allow access to and that enhance the health of our entire community. We are building a skilled healthcare workforce through the ongoing development of our original scholarship fund. We fund capital projects at Satilla Regional Medical Center to ensure that a modern medical facility will meet the changing healthcare needs of our community now and well into the future. Our mission is still driven by thoughtful community leaders and supported through the generosity of our donors - our friends and neighbors - who share our commitment to good health. In return for their generosity, we have made a commitment to the highest levels of stewardship, effectiveness, and accountability.
