The King Centre for the Performing Arts was founded in 1970 by Nancy King in Ringwood with 305 students. From the beginning, the King Centre always stressed the best in dance education and offerered special workshops with Melissa Hayden, Lisa Danias, Charles Kelley, Judy Ann Bassing, and Frank Hatchett among others, as well as cast members from many Broadway shows.
