Info

The New England Employee Benefits Council sponsors a variety of programs throughout the year, designed to met the needs of the broad spectrum of employee benefits professionals, whether in corporations, non-profit organizations, insurance providers or professional services organizations. Included in the offerings are: Full-day Conferences: The Annual Employee Benefits Fair & Trade Show, showcases nationally recognized speakers, and the latest in employee benefits related products and services. The program provides participants with the latest information on retirement planning, health and welfare programs, work/life practices and compensation issues. Ample time is provided for networking with colleagues. NEEBC's "Best Practices" Holiday Conference, held in December, honors New England's most innovative and creative benefit programs. As with the mid-year program, the Holiday Conference provides ample opportunity to network and celebrate the holidays with friends and colleagues. The annual Washington Update program is a half-day program in the Fall featuring first-hand briefings by senior governmental representatives. The seminar is intended for benefits advisors (consultants, actuaries and lawyers), as well as corporate benefit managers, internal legal counsel and financial officers, with responsibility for compliance with government regulation. One of NEEBC's most popular series of programs in the Basic Benefits series. This series of programs is designed for individuals new to the benefits field, or more seasoned professionals looking for a refresher course. The Spring full-day program, the Basics of Employee Health & Welfare Plans, provides participants with broad knowledge of health and welfare plans, work/life programs and regulatory requirements. The Fall program focuses on the Basics of Employee Retirement Plans including defined benefit and defined contribution plans. The Connection Series is a half-day series of seminars designed to provide a better understanding of important benefit management concepts, as well as the technical knowledge to effectively evaluate options. Topics include "International Benefits", "Recent Trends" and "Managing your Health Care Renewals". The Council sponsors a series of half-day "How To" Workshops for benefit plan administrators and other professionals with a need to know the technical aspects of administration and compliance for COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, 401(k) and 403(b) administration, and Flex plan administration. Benefits Club luncheons, held approximately every six weeks, provide a forum for discussion of "hot breaking" employee benefit related issues, as well as technical subjects with limited audience appeal.
