Northern Power is committed to the development of practical, real-world energy solutions to meet its customers' needs. The R&D team is charged with developing innovative products and capabilities to support Northern Power's mission and its growth. The R&D team works to fulfill Northern Power's vision of reliable, cost effective, and low impact power provided from widespread use of distributed and renewable generation resources. We partner with commercial and government partners to leverage our internal R&D investment in the pursuit of this vision. We focus on and strive to excel in a number of core technical competency areas: Power electronics Advanced power system architectures Wind turbine technology Control & SCADA software We have collaborated with research partners such as the US Department of Energy (DOE), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), NASA, the National Science Foundation (NSF), the California Energy Commission (CEC) to develop key technology and products.
