Citizens First Bank, with branches in Viroqua, Trempealeau, Sparta, Viola and Centerville is a family-owned banking group, each with a long history in the communities we serve. We started in 1969 with the purchase of First National Bank of Viroqua and Farmers State Bank of Viola. In 1985, the family purchased Citizens State Bank in Trempealeau. Finally, in 1999, the M&I Bank branch in Sparta joined the group. In the summer of 2005, all four banks were merged and reorganized as Citizens First Bank, a State of Wisconsin chartered bank. Most recently, we opened a new branch in Centerville. All of our banks and our employees are committed to personal involvement in their respective communities, and they do this in a number of different ways. Many individual employees volunteer for organizations like local fire departments, local EMS service and nonprofit organizations like the Boys and Girls Club, Rotary International and Rural Leadership. Additionally, Citizens First Bank proudly supports high school athletics and other programs and activities for young people, such as Junior Achievement. We pride ourselves on our friendly, small-town approach. Many of our dedicated employees have worked for us for 10 years, 20 years, or even longer.
