Convera Corporation (Convera) provides hosted search technology and related services to publishers, enabling publishers to generate additional Web traffic and online revenues by creating customized search applications. Based on Convera’s search platform publishers can combine site search, publisher’s own content and content from the Web into a vertical search application. As of January 31, 2008, Allen Holding, Inc., together with Allen & Company Incorporated and certain related parties beneficially owned approximately 42% of the voting power of Convera. On August 9, 2007, the Company sold its RetrievalWare Enterprise Search business (Enterprise Search) to Fast Search & Transfer (FAST).
