Given Imaging Ltd. develops, manufactures and markets diagnostic products for the visualization and detection of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. Its main product is the Given System, a wireless imaging system that uses a miniaturized video camera contained in a capsule, referred to as the PillCam capsule, which is ingested by the patient and delivers color images in a painless and noninvasive manner. The Given System consists of three principal components: a single-use, disposable PillCam color-imaging capsule that is ingested by the patient; a portable data recorder and array of sensors that are worn by the patient, and a computer workstation with a RAPID software for downloading, processing and analyzing recorded data. As of December 31, 2007, Given Imaging had an installed base of nearly 4,250 Given Systems and had sold more than 650,000 PillCam SB capsules in over 60 countries worldwide.(Source: 20-F)
