Rob Tucker Consulting is an organizational communication consulting firm which specializes in the development of skills necessary for advocacy and persuasion in a business setting. Dr. Tucker focuses on coaching upper and mid-level executives and management personnel in effective argument design, construction, and delivery. The firm also focuses on logical and legal reasoning skills inherent in effective professional presentations, as well as gaining the skills necessary to effectively deliver the presentation, with a minimum of anxiety. Also addressed are critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which promote independent thought and creativity in the development of these presentations. In 2000 and 2001, Rob spoke to many organizations, including business students from Drake University, business persons at the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce and educators within the Ankeny School District among others, on making effective business presentations. He was responsible in part for the Summer 2000 Ankeny Debate Seminar and assisted the Ankeny Debate Program with continued training in advocacy and argumentation strategies and decision-making. Dr. Tucker has written the lead article in May 2001 issue of the 'Pipeline," the publication of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Central Iowa Chapter. It is entitled "Presentation-Making as Private Speaking." He has also written for journals, in this country and in Europe, on the topic of making effective business presentations (e.g. "Perfect Presenting" European Cleaning Journal, June/July 2000. Rob has provided professional consultation to business and professional organizations, both public and private, for more than 20 years. The firm also has been engaged in trial consulting for the last 7 years. The firm strives to find the best fit between the needs of the organization and the services provided. The development of skills, as the organization's tools, is an effective and coherent approach to adapting to the needs and goals of the ever-changing marketplace.
