Stumpcam, Inc. produces digital imaging devices (Stumpcam Model 9951 & Model 9960) for recording or viewing events day or night in remote areas where an uninterrupted power supply is not available. These units are passive infrared-triggered and now have a pressure switch terminal (beginning in May, 2004) that can be used in conjunction with the passive infrared sensor to activate recording. There is no flash photography involved for capturing night images with Stumpcam units. Stumpcam, Inc. also sells accessories that enhance the unit for different applications. The Stumpcam Model 9951 is state-of-the-art device manufactured to be compatible with Sony Digital 8 camcorders. The Stumpcam® Model 9960 is designed to operate with most Sony® Mini-DV camcorder models produced beginning in 2004. The Stumpcam Model 9951 & Model 9960 units are designed to operate where the placement of a digital photo or video camcorder may need to be concealed and where electrical power is not readily available. The Stumpcam Model 9951 & Model 9960 can record up to 40 feet or beyond (depending on ambient light and environmental conditions) at night with their on board infrared array. Beginning in May, 2004, a switching connection will be available on the Stumpcam Model 9951 & Model 9960 that will be capable of triggering an independent infrared lighting source to enhance the recording distance of the units. This switching terminal on/off function is controlled by the programming keypad on the Model 9951 & Model 9960 and coincides with the programmed record and off times (delay times). The addition of the pressure switch terminal & the independent infrared array terminal is especially designed to assist researchers dealing with small animal research and for those who wish to record a longer distance at night.
