Destiny Web Design is owned by Kathleen Clark. Kathys' journey to web designing is attributed to the desire to find her "niche" in life. After 20 years of service with a telecommunications company, Kathy took the major step and resigned in 1998 to pursue her dreams. Due to raising a family of four and living quite a distance from colleges, Kathy searched the internet for resources available for online learning. Some of the schools and educational resources she used were ZDU, Virtual University, HWG, Barnes & Noble University, and LVS Online, of which Kathy is an instructor and on staff working in the backgrounds to help make the students experience enjoyable and rewarding. In an effort to stay on top of the ever changing internet, Kathy is constantly reading up and taking classes in such areas as DHTML, Javascript, CSS, ASP, XML, PHP, graphic design, and web authoring tools. Most non-web designers will have no idea what this means, but rest assured that Kathy is continually striving for knowledge and updating her skills to keep up with the ever changing industry of web design and development. Becky owns a small computer consulting firm in the midwestern US, providing services ranging from hardware/software selection & troubleshooting, to customized training programs and websites. She has a long history with being addicted to computers - her first PC (from IBM) came on a pallet in pieces with 3 boxes of documentation. She has programming experience in ancient languages (COBOL, FORTRAN, RPG II & III, Progress IV & V, Cassette BASIC!), has been a technical writer, software tester and Nat'l Dir of Software Training, as well as an IT/Mgmt consultant to Wall Street law firms. Becky does extensive public speaking & training, and sits on several national boards. Becky is also on staff at LVS Online. While the majority of the web design and development at Destiny is done by Kathy and Becky, they are also backed by a unique group of web designers, who's services may be contracted out at any time, depending upon the size of the project and the need for speed. These experts teamed up to help each other and to give advice or constructive criticism when called upon. With combined efforts, knowledge and expertise, Destiny Web Design is able to create web sites to please a wide array of needs. In efforts to stay informed and keep up on the latest technologies in the web design industry, Kathy and Becky are members of several professional organizations to keep them adept in business and web design. They are members of the HTML Writers Guild, the World Organization of Webmasters, and the Cyber Crew. They also subscribes to many ezines and web design related newsletters to keep informed of current events.
