Info

Originally established in 1963, Handmaker was created to provide high quality nursing care to those with Jewish heritage. Handmaker's non-profit organization has always provided services to people of all faiths. The Handmaker family provided the initial funding to build the "Tucson Jewish Home", Handmaker's original name. We are proud of our roots and traditions. In keeping with this, our staff orientation includes education regarding our heritage, our Kosher kitchen and our dedication to providing World Class service to all our residents and guests. Over the years, Handmaker has responded to the needs of the community by expanding its programs and services, as well as the building itself. The property you see today is the result of that growth and commitment to provide the standard for senior services and senior living. In 2004, The National Association of Homebuilders recognized Handmaker as the best small to midsize continuing care retirement center in the nation with its Platinum Award. Additionally, the Handmaker property was published in the 2004 American Institute of Architect's Design for Aging Review and was selected to receive the "Silver Trowel" award from the Arizona Masonry Guild for excellence in masonry design. But to truly learn about Handmaker, listen to what our residents and their families have to say. Follow this link to view our most recent resident and family survey results.
