Applied Ecosystem Services, Inc. was founded by Rich Shepard in 1993 to provide the highest levels of scientific expertise to the natural resource industries. Our company has successfully completed projects for multiple sectors of the mining, forestry, electrical generation/transmission, agriculture, and development industries. In addition to scientific and technical expertise with rivers, watersheds, and all aspects of the Clean Water Act (CWA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)-and their state equivalents-the company brings to its clients years of experience in the environmental management of natural resource industries, agency relations, and legislative processes. We have testified at hearings of state legislatures, met with individual legislators to explain complex environmental and industry issues, provided written testimony to Congress, and served as expert witness in court proceedings.
