The Grand Traverse Yacht Club was formed in 1960 as a small boat sailing club. The club fleet is still dominated by small and medium sized racers but also includes a wide variety of cruising sailboats and powerboats. Located on West Grand Traverse Bay near Traverse City Michigan, the club has an active sailboat racing program and often hosts national and international regattas. Our Cruising Fleet meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month for dinner and a presentation. The club is housed in a new modern facility and maintains seasonal docks, a beach, launch ramp and a mooring field. The Club is open most Wednesday and Friday nights throughout the year. The Club is also available to members for private functions. Applicants for membership must be sponsored by a current member.
