Capitol Federal Financial is a federally chartered mid-tier mutual holding company that operates through its wholly owned subsidiary, Capitol Federal Savings Bank (the Bank). The Bank is a federally chartered and insured savings bank headquartered in Topeka, Kansas. The Bank attracts retail deposits from the general public and invests those funds primarily in permanent loans secured by first mortgages on owner-occupied, one- to four-family (single-family) residences. It also originates consumer loans, loans secured by first mortgages on non-owner-occupied one- to four-family residences, permanent and construction loans secured by one- to four-family residences, commercial real estate loans and multi-family real estate loans.
