Merit Seating was founded in '94 on the principle of providing customers with a broad selection of high quality office seating for a reasonable price. It sounds simple but it was a pretty revolutionary thought back then. Remember Henry Ford and the Model T? He once said "that people could choose from any color paint they wanted as long as it was black." That same mentality in the chair business was why we took the gamble of our lives to start Merit. We knew that if we could build a better company people would come, and they have! Our chairs are manufactured with pride in the heart of Texas. All, but a very small portion, of the components that go into our chairs are made in America. We have great employees and we appreciate their desire to build you an outstanding chair! They inspect each and every chair we ship as if it were going into their own homes. The founders of the company have over 130 combined years of experience in manufacturing chairs. All of the founders are still active in the day to day operations of the company. These guys eat, sleep and breathe chairs; what else would they be doing?
