Info
Camelback is an icon of the Pocono Mountains and is considered a first-class attraction in the Northeast region of the United States. Camelback offers year-round, family recreational facilities centered on winter skiing and a summertime waterpark. Camelback's infrastructure represents industry-leading technologies and facility-management techniques. Camelback opened in December of 1963. The ski area, the largest in the region, is known for its 33 trails, two high speed quad chairlifts, a snowtubing park consisting of nine-chutes with four tow lifts, and superb snowmaking capabilities for the entire mountain. During the summer season, Camelback guests enjoy the waterpark, well-known for its heated water facilities including its enormous wave pool, 22 waterslides--more than any park in Pennsylvania--an action river, a 4-acre children's water play park, bumper boats, chairlift rides, mini golf and a host of other family attractions. The waterpark, founded in 1998, has been a smashing success and brings thousands to the region for a world-class experience. Camelback attracts more than 700,000 visitors annually and is a major economic force in the Pocono Mountains and eastern Pennsylvania. During the season, Camelback employs a staff of more than 800, including full-time and part-time employees.
