Bethany (Beth) Leytham is the principal and owner of The Leytham Group, a strategic public relations and issues management firm. Transitioning to her own firm evolved naturally, as Ms. Leytham spent several years as Vice President of Public Affairs for the Greater Tampa Chamber. In this role, Ms. Leytham oversaw all external communications and public policy advocacy, including public information and community outreach efforts; the development and implementation of the Chamber's local and legislative agenda; all media relations efforts; and, the creation and production of collateral materials mailed and distributed by the Chamber. Significant highlights of her tenure at the Chamber included development of four inaugural efforts: Leadership Tampa Institute, the Community Report Card, Dialogue with the Candidates, the Transportation Public Outreach Campaign. Ms. Leytham continued to be the chief project manager for the transportation campaign. Ms. Leytham arrived at the Chamber through the Tampa Downtown Partnership, where she served for three years as the Director of Marketing and Special Projects. While at the Partnership, she developed and managed numerous special projects, including the original web site, the Downtown Directory, and wrote Inside Downtown, the Partnership's award-winning monthly publication. Of particular note, Ms. Leytham spearheaded the development of the Tampa Downtown Partnership School, a pre-kindergarten to fourth grade elementary school. Originally teaching just 40 students, the school has now grown to serve 160 children of parents who work downtown, and the school's stand alone building is now under construction. Ms. Leytham graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, IN, with a bachelor's of science degree in political science. She has been active in the community and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute, Tampa Bay District, as well as the board of The Spring of Tampa Bay. Ms Leytham is a Class of '99 alumni of Leadership Tampa and a former Guardian Ad Litem.
