Info

TLC is a top of the line ambulance company that is extremely active in the community, garnering three national awards for community service, as well as a local award for outstanding small business. Riding for Life is an award winning education program aimed at first time driving while intoxicated offenders under the age of 30. In cooperation with the Cortland County STOP DWI Office, District Attorney's Office and Governor's Traffic Safety Committee, TLC developed and administers this program. The American Ambulance Association in 1995 recognized Riding for Life as Outstanding Public Safety Program in the United States. Ride and Drive is also an award-winning program. This program developed as the kick-off for National EMS Week, targets community and business leaders. Ride and Drive puts the community decision makers in the driver's seat of an ambulance to get a first-hand look at the stress and skill needed to drive an ambulance in both a non-emergency and emergency situation. The American Ambulance Association in 1996 recognized Ride and Drive as Outstanding EMS Week Program in the United States. Halloween Candy Check was honored with an American Ambulance Association Amby Award for Outstanding Public Safety Program. TLC, in conjunction with the Deputy Sheriffs Benevolent Association and SUNY-Cortland Rescue Squad, set up five check stations around the county on Halloween night. Volunteers used metal detectors to check candy for pieces of metal. The Cortland County Chamber of Commerce honored TLC Emergency Medical Services in 1996 as outstanding small business. The success of these programs is a direct result of the effort and dedication of the TLC staff.
