Syracuse Language was established in Syracuse, New York, USA in 1989 as the extension of a research project in the use of technology to advance language learning. Today, SL is part of the publishing branch of Vivendi Universal, the world's second largest media company. While Vivendi Universal has opened doors for world-wide distribution to Syracuse Language products, the company still maintains its development studio in Syracuse, where it all began.
