Hardy Construction has maintained an excellent record of safety. We have always retained an Experience Modification Rate below 0.85. We have safety awards given six times per year to encourage safety everyday. Our Safety budget is reviewed yearly in an effort to enhance our safety program, equipment and awards regularly. We have a Safety Director that goes to job sites and evaluates the job for non-compliance, identifies and corrects critical safety hazards, and sets up safety training in various areas. All accidents and/or near misses are investigated thoroughly by the site supervisor and the Safety Director. We have a "New Employee Orientation" program in place to instruct those new to Hardy on all facets of our Safety Awareness Program. This includes a complete Employer Policy Safety Manual for each employee. We have weekly "Toolbox Talks" that are administered on site by either a Project Manager, Superintendent, or foreman. They utilize different scenarios to teach each employee new ways to keep "Safety First" on the job site. Our Company Policy contains strict rules regarding drug and alcohol use and we adhere to stringent pre-hire, post-accident and cause testing.
