Info

Kintana is an enterprise software company completely focused on CIOs' top concerns: maximizing IT business value, optimizing IT service delivery, and reducing IT costs. Kintana has more than 350 customers, profitable operations with steadily growing revenues, strong, proven leadership, and innovative products. At a time when 92% of software companies have declining revenues, Kintana keeps building on success. Kintana CEO Bryan Plug puts it this way: "Our sole focus is helping our customers transform their IT operations to seamlessly support their business strategies while reducing costs and improving performance." Kintana's comprehensive approach achieves real-time IT governance for IT organizations. The Kintana IT Governance Suite includes: role-based dashboards, giving IT leaders real-time decision-making and execution capability for both strategic projects and 'keep-the-lights-on' activities; an integrated application suite that digitizes and automates IT business processes from demand to production, and a powerful platform providing workflow, resource, security, execution, and reporting services. Kintana also offers support and education services that are highly rated by customers. Kintana brings IT the same kind of visibility, control, and efficiency over initiatives and operations that enterprise software such as ERP, CRM, and SCM brought to other corporate functions years ago. But unlike some types of enterprise software, Kintana can be easily implemented in phases, bringing rapid return on investment while methodically building out a better structure for governing IT. This is the result of eight years of continuous effort by what our customers rate as one of the best development teams in the business. The Kintana team listened closely to real customer needs and worked with them to create applications that implement easily and pay back quickly. It all began in 1995, when IT consultants Raj Jain, Nick Fergis, and Ram Duraiswamy recognized that the IT business model could be greatly improved. Coming from backgrounds in manufacturing engineering and ERP software, they understood the value that planning and control software, automated business processes, and integration had brought to other parts of the enterprise including Finance, Manufacturing, and Human Resources. So they launched a company to deliver what they originally called "ERP for IT." The business model was simple: use the profits from their IT consulting to fund the development of software for managing the business of IT. They developed their first products at customers such as Cisco Systems and Silicon Graphics, and by 1998 had nearly 100 customers. In 2000, the company, originally named Chain Link Technologies, became Kintana, a name based on the ancient Greek word for energy in motion. That same year, Kintana released six new products, added its 200th customer, HP, grew operations in Europe, and expanded its executive team by bringing in industry veterans from SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Siebel. The following year, Kintana offered the first comprehensive enterprise application suite for IT, and added its 250th Customer, Ford Motor Company. Today, more than 350 customers, including such leaders as Cisco, the Chicago Board of Trade, Credit Suisse, Daimler-Chrysler, and Xcel Energy, embrace Kintana's vision. Kintana's approach has drawn strong positive comment from key industry analysts and has been recognized with a variety of awards, including three prestigious Crossroads A-list Awards in the past three years, a feat matched only by IBM, Microsoft, and Sun. Kintana's leadership team is committed to executing and extending its vision of transforming IT governance. Its Senior Management team is anchored by seasoned software professionals who understand how to create and deliver value to customers. Outside members of Kintana's Board of Directors include Kenneth A. Goldman, CFO of Siebel Systems, Inc., Kurt R. Jaggers, managing director of TA Associates, Inc.; Raymond G. Stern, Senior Vice President of Intuit Inc., and Anthony Zingale, an independent consultant and past CEO of Clarify, Inc. Leading system integrators recognize the value Kintana brings to their business, and to their clients. Accenture, BearingPoint, and other firms team with Kintana, and have successfully implemented Kintana for multiple clients. Kintana has also partnered successfully with numerous other system integrators on individual projects. Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, and Siebel Systems have all certified Kintana products as a way to lowering the cost of implementing and managing their applications. Kintana is headquartered in the heart of Silicon Valley, with sales offices across North America and in Europe and more than 200 employees worldwide.
