The Blacklands Railroad is located in the northeast corner of Texas. The BLR got its name from the "black gumbo" soil which runs from near the Red River Oklahoma/Texas border to near Austin, Texas. The BLR runs from Greenville through Commerce and terminated in Sulphur Springs until 01 October 2000. After 01 October 2000 the BLR continues from Sulphur Springs through Mount Vernon to the Franklin/Titus County Line.
