The Fly Rod Shop is a retail store providing all products related to fly fishing or spin fishing. The shop first opened in 1973, over 30 years ago, and we have a strong heritage of serving the Northern Vermont fly fishing community with great products. In March of 2001, Bob Shannon, owner of the Stowe based guiding service Fly Fish Vermont, bought the Fly Rod Shop as a way to expand and complement both businesses. Bob Shannon, the owner and head guide, has been teaching and guiding in the area since 1986. He has taught a class at the local Johnson State College in Johnson Vermont on fly fishing for the past 10 years,and has consistently been featured in the press for excellence in fly fishing and guiding.
