Navion Biomedical Corporation
Info
Navion Biomedical Corp. is a high technology developer and manufacturer of innovative medical products. Navion was founded in October 1989 to develop and manufacture medical products incorporating electronic position-sensing technology. Using this "smart" sensor technology clinicians can locate and navigate medical devices within a patient's body without the use of costly x-rays or fluoroscopy. Navion's state of the art technology provides health care providers lower cost alternative solutions to high cost medical procedures while maintaining equivalent or improved safety and efficacy. Navion is the owner of 2 current U.S. patents (foreign patents pending) on three-dimensional position sensing technology for use in medical applications. Using this powerful, proprietary technology, Navion has begun to exploit a wide range of medical applications in this revolutionary new field we call 'Bio-Navionics". Navion's products are approved by the U.S. FDA and facilitate the transfer of routine central venous catheterization from expensive operating rooms to less costly procedure rooms or outpatient facilities. The products have been marketed by C.R. Bard, Inc. in the U.S. since 1995 for placing their line of central venous catheters. Navion's products are also being used by hospitals and infusion companies across the country for placing PICC lines and feeding tubes. Navion's BioNavigationÔ System offers the following benefits: Reduced CostsDevice placement in lower cost settings Eliminates need for immediate x-ray confirmation Device placement by less skilled personnel Reduces surgery/procedure time
