University of the Pacific, founded in 1851, is California's first chartered institution of higher education. In addition to its School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the University also includes the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, and Schools of Engineering, Business, Music, and Education on the Stockton campus.
