TUCON Construction Corporation is an employee owned commercial general contractor located in Dulles, VA. Originally founded as TUCON Systems, Inc. in 1983, TUCON has grown to be the nineteenth largest commercial general contractor in the Washington DC metropolitan area by the year 2000. TUCON is an acronym for Tilt Up CONcrete. This experience with Concrete Construction has led us into many new arenas. TUCON expanded its scope of services in the late 80's to include tenant services and many other forms of construction. TUCON focuses primarily on the private sector commercial market. We have five major target markets that include: 1.) Flex/Industrial Buildings 2.) Retail Centers and Distribution Buildings 3.) Building Renovations/Tenant Improvements 4.) Multi-Story Office Buildings and Parking Structures, and 5.) Mission Critical Facilities. We work with all the major developers including such prominent names as Atlantic Realty, Boston Properties, The Lerner Companies, Trammel Crow, Trizec-Hahn, and many more. We have performed work for major end users such as United Airlines, British Aerospace, GTE, and many more. Our Mission Critical resume includes such prominent players as Qwest Communication, Exodus Communications, Colo.Com, Equinix, and Genuity to name a few. Our goal as a company is to achieve an eighty percent (80%) repeat work ratio with all of our owners. To date, we have more than exceeded that goal. TUCON offers a wide range of services that include: Design-Build Construction, Preconstruction Services, and Full-Service General Contracting. TUCON's thorough management systems for all aspects of operation are second to none in the industry. Further, TUCON utilizes Primavera Expedition Contract Control Software, SureTrak Scheduling Software, Timberline Accounting Software, AutoCAD 2000, and the latest versions of Microsoft Office to manage projects with optimum efficiency. TUCON has adopted a team approach to project management. Each project is assigned to a project team. The teams are comprised of senior project managers, project managers, assistant project managers, team accountants, and administrative support.
