We operate one of the largest Early Childhood programs in the State of Michigan. Nearly 3,000 children under the age of five participate in one of our many child care, nursery or preschool programs located throughout the school district. Our commitment to early childhood education is strong, as evidenced by the new Early Childhood Center, attached to our newest elementary school, Duncan Elementary School, located on 26 Mile Road between Schoenherr and Hayes. In addition, Maynard Education Center also continues to house a variety of programs to meet the needs of families with preschool age children. The School-Age Child Care serves families in all 28 elementary school buildings with before and after school programs, KinderDay and Kinder Choice. In addition, SACC offers child care for school-age children at four sites during the summer. Our Leisure-Time Enrichment and Recreation program offers a variety of both personal and professional development classes, ranging from creating a healthier lifestyle, understanding finances, career preparation, sports camps, senior citizen trips and much more. Classes are offered at a variety of convenient locations and times. These classes are offered for every age group. Each and every day of the year offers us an opportunity to learn, grow and have fun. And finally, adults 16 years of age and older, have an opportunity to complete an interrupted high school education through our Utica Learning Academy and Adult Education programs housed at the school district's Training & Development Center.
