Oriental Plaza's new 'pink linen' location draws crowds with straightforward dishes & budget-conscious prices Everyone's a critic when it comes to Chinese food. It's one of those cuisines where palates either gravitate to familiar flavors or simply the most affordable neighborhood option for a family enjoying a night out. The dishes at Oriental Plaza in Bulls Head may push those familiar taste buttons, particularly if you were a customer of the "old" location on Marsh Avenue. The three-month-old Chinese restaurant redux lives in a newly constructed, free-standing building in a bank-restaurant-office complex fairly sprawling by Staten Island standards. Windows line much of the first- and second-floor dining room perimeters. Large, shiny marble floor tiles and reddish-stained wood paneling are about it on ornamentation. Wall decorations, window screens, an orderly looking waiter station and a more meticulously manicured sushi bar backdrop are hopefully in the works. For now, the restaurant has an air of unfinished business.
