Founded in 1992, Imprima Management Services operates as a print management advisor to businesses and other institutions. We work exclusively on behalf of clients seeking to lower costs and improve processes associated with print communication. We are not a printer and do not derive income from print manufacturing. Our business model is predicated on representing buyers' interests, following what we refer to as a "buy-side" print methodology. The "buy-side" approach emphasizes accurate requirements definition and objective, informed vendor selection as keys to productivity. Specification accuracy eliminates protective, "what-if" vendor pricing; removing doubt from the quotation process. Informed vendor selection removes preferential bias in the award of manufacturing contracts. It leads to a "win-win" environment in which buyers and suppliers benefit. Having achieved success as project managers, Imprima quickly developed systems to aid print management decision-making on a larger scale; a print buy evaluation system to collect and analyze historical purchasing data; a vendor capabilities database to enhance project/supplier matching; and a print savings model to express cost reduction opportunities. The result: a structured, flexible and highly efficient process for reducing cost without sacrificing service or product quality, fostering repeatability across a wide range of print product categories. Imprima expanded rapidly from 1995 through 1998, winning multi-year contracts from a multi-national pharmaceuticals company to supply marketing communications literature, stationery, envelopes, custom business forms and labels. More recently, Imprima developed new business opportunities serving hospitality, public utility and educational markets. We have expanded client consulting relationships to address growing demand for assistance on organizational, staffing and process management issues. And we have introduced web-enabled connections that allow clients to place and track jobs directly from their desktops, with complete access to current information.
