Curtis Lumber & Plywood

Info
Curtis Lumber & Plywood was founded in 1957 by Henry Clay Curtis as an office wholesale entity, buying and selling carloads of West-coast lumber and plywood. As business grew, Mr. Curtis expanded into a wholesale distribution yard in Alexandria, VA, leasing the Southern Railway Roundhouse, where we remained until December 1997. Mr. Curtis worked with the company until his death in April 1997; and we believe that his steady, sensible leadership has prepared us for the daily challenges that any small business faces. Mr. Curtis' daughter, Amy, joined the company in 1983 and has been President for several years. In March 1998, we moved to our new warehouse/distribution facility in Springfield, VA, which is very exciting for all of us. Not only do we have a beautifully outfitted office but also a canopy which allows us to load and unload trucks completely out of the weather, thereby protecting the lumber and plywood until the drivers can tarp their trucks. We also can store all of our material under cover ensuring you, our customer, the most beautiful lumber in the market. We purchase our materials from the nation's finest mills including Union Camp, Weyerhaeuser, Williamette, Hood, Hunt, and others. Our people are experienced lumber handlers and strive to maintain the highest quality of service that you'll find anywhere. Most of our customers receive overnight or one-day service with the purchase of one unit or more. Let us show you that old fashioned values, like quality, service, and personal attention, have not gone out of style at Curtis Lumber & Plywood. We may use the newest technology, but that's only to help us give you the service you've come to expect.
