KPD was founded in 1979 by Ike Kingrey and Gordon Price. Armed only with the insurance skills honed from their years with a national broker and a large Northwest insurer, Kingrey and Price set up shop in small quarters in downtown Springfield, Oregon. With an office staff of four, which included their wives, Ike and Gordon began to write commercial insurance for businesses in the Southern Willamette Valley. In 1982, having outgrown its downtown location , the agency moved to the Gateway district of Springfield. Stan Duyck, also from a national broker, joined the team and the agency took the new name of Kingrey, Price, and Duyck Insurance. Through subsequent incorporation, the agency adopted the highly-recognized name we use today, KPD Insurance. As our industry peers observed our growth and culture over the years, other successful agents and staff joined the agency. By the mid 1990's, we had once again outgrown our office space. In 1996 we moved around the corner to our present spacious location. As the KPD team and its expertise grew over the years we added workers' compensation, employee benefits, and life and financial services to the commercial insurance and bonds that were our cornerstone products in the early years. At the urging of our clients, we also added personal and family insurance services. While the founders have all retired, the "Kandu" spirit of the original partners lives on in our commitment to endeavor to deliver absolutely the best insurance and risk management solutions available for every one of our clients.
