A grandiose round of applause to Cindy Turner, Dakota Rising Community Site Coordinator of Southern Hills on the Rise, on being awarded the 2014 Volunteer of the Year at the BHCED Annual Meeting and Banquet! Aside from her participation with Dakota Rising, Cindy Turner is also a Consultant for the Southern Hills Economic Development Corporation.  Southern Hills Economic Development Corporation (SHEDCO) was formed in 2012 to promote economic interest, development, and improvement of the quality of life in the county of Fall River, South Dakota. SHEDCO actively pursues economic development by assisting existing, new and expanding business and industry within Fall River County as well as working closely with the Governor's Office of Economic Development and other area organizations that hold common interests. SHEDCO is governed by a nine member board of directors which represents the cities of Hot Springs, Edgemont and the surrounding county. See the award video here:  ht
