L.G. Everist, Inc. is a fourth generation privately-held business focused on construction materials and rail transportation. Our company started with a coal business in Havana, Illinois in 1876. Lucius Garland Everist was a railroad station master who understood how providing quality products and service to his customer was key to operating a successful business. His philosophy continues today as the foundation of an enterprise covering six states with 280 employees at 14 locations. The daily work of crushing stone and processing sand and gravel continues to be our primary task; however, the emerging business of transloading bulk rail commodities is growing steadily.
