CEZ, as is a joint stock company engaged in the production of electricity in the Czech Republic. The main activity of CEZ is the sale of electricity, generated in its own facilities, and the related provision of power system ancillary services. The core business also includes the generation, distribution and sale of heat. The Company has 10 fossil fuel plants, 16 hydroelectric plants and two nuclear plants. Through its subsidiaries, it operates several hydroelectric, fossil fuel and gas-fired power plants in the Czech Republic, two fossil fuel plants in Poland and one plant in Bulgaria. it has further subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Russia, Slovakia and Serbia, among others. The majority of the electricity is sold on the domestic market. The CEZ Group covers a range of business activities: energy generating facilities, telecommunication services, as well as research and development.
