At Sharon Lane we strive to make our residents really feel as if this is their home. We, as team members, feel they are a part of their family and want them to feel the same in return. To accomplish this we have incorporated the "Eden Alternative" into our care philosophy. We also provide our residents with as much choice as possible with their meals, activities, and care needs. Our staff is dedicated to the individuals they care for and pride themselves in being Sharon Lane team members. Our long term care unit is designed to provide the unique level of care each person requires. We strive for our residents to maintain their highest level of independence and will supplement for them where they need assistance. We have available for our residents: nursing care, nutritional services, activities, medically related social services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, restorative therapy, and medically related transportation services. We are proud to have Dr. Fredrick Short, D.O. as our Long Term Care Medical Director for the past 10 years. Dr. Short completed his medical degree in 1981 at the University of Health Sciences and is board certified in family practice and geriatrics. He has dedicated his practice to serving the needs of geriatric patients for over 20 years. Either Dr. Short or one of his two nurse practitioners, Roger Bidwell, ARNP and Lee Health, ARNP, is available to our staff 24 hours/day seven days/week. They make rounds at Sharon Lane weekly and as needed to meet our patients' medical needs.
