Targeted Genetics Corporation (Targeted Genetics) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company. The Company is engaged in developing and commercializing therapeutic products called gene therapeutics. The product candidate is being developed as a treatment for inflammatory arthritis, and additional programs target human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS), congestive heart failure and Huntington's disease. The Company is also engaged in the clinical development of adeno-associated viral vectors (AAV)-based gene therapeutics and in the manufacture of AAV-vectors. It has treated over 300 subjects in clinical trials using AAV-based gene therapeutic product candidates. In February 2007, the Company completed the Phase I clinical trial of the investigational HIV/AIDS vaccine candidate.
