Sail Sand Point offers 4 basic programs, and the entire community is welcome to become part of them. Our Open Sailing Progam offers the use of our boats to anyone in the community who can demonstrate proficiency. To do this you come to SSP and rig the boat, sail it, capsize it and right it in front of an instructor. We cannot aid you in doing any of these things, including demonstrating rigging. Our open sailing program is geared to allow people to become better sailors. Our Sailing Classes make up the bulk of what we do here. We have programs for youth and adults. Every year we teach over 500 people to sail. It is easy and inexpensive to do. We have classes for people of all skill levels and no one is turned away because of money. Our Outrigger Canoe program is probably the best in the Northwest. A small but growing program is open to anyone who wants to become part of a team and work toward the goals of the team. We have groups ranging from highly competitive to just good old competitive. Come down and find your niche. Boat Access is a way to get more use out of your boat, be it row, sail or paddle. All the boats in the access program must be hand launchable, non-motorized boats. The idea of the program is to enable you to access the water, not just drop your boat off. So come down and get out on the water.
